Beautiful Selection (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2011/137434/07) is the responsible party for the personal information we collect through beautifulselection.co.za and when you order from us, under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and your rights. Our POPIA notice forms part of this policy.

What we collect

Details you give us: name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, ring size and design details, and what you write to us in forms, email or chat.
Order details: what you bought, when, and how it was delivered or collected.
Device and usage details: browser, device, pages viewed and how you reached our site, collected with cookies (see below).

What we use it for

To make, deliver and support your order or custom piece, including returns and warranty.
To answer your enquiries and arrange design consultations.
To keep our site working and secure, and to understand how it is used so we can improve it.
To send you our news and offers, only if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email.
To meet our legal duties, for example tax records.

Payments

Card, EFT and pay-later payments are processed by our payment provider and the pay-later providers you choose at checkout. We do not see or store your card details.

Who we share it with

Only those who help us run the store and deliver your order: our store platform (Shopify), our payment provider, couriers, our email provider, and, if you allow marketing cookies, Google and Meta for advertising. They may only use your information to provide their service to us. Some of them store information outside South Africa; we only use providers bound by data-protection terms that give protection similar to POPIA. We never sell your personal information.

Cookies

Cookies are small files your browser stores. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline cookies that are not essential, and you can change your choice later through the cookie settings link on our site.

Essential (always on): keep your cart, checkout and login working, and protect the site.
Analytics (only with your consent): show us which pages are visited, so we can improve the site (Shopify and Google Analytics).
Marketing (only with your consent): measure our adverts and show you relevant ones on Google, Facebook and Instagram.

How long we keep it

Order and tax records for as long as South African law requires; other information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or until you ask us to delete it where the law allows.

Your rights

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to its use, and withdraw consent for direct marketing at any time. Contact our Information Officer at the details above; we will reply within a reasonable time.
